Meet Dr.
Espinoza

Alexander Espinoza, M.D. was born and
raised in Los Angeles and attended Loyola Marymount University (LMU),
graduating with a degree in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. While
at LMU he was awarded the Scholar-Athlete of the year award in Cross
Country NCAA Division 1 and the Thomas D. Pitts award for excellence
in Biology upon graduation in 1995.
He attended medical school at UCLA and
graduated in 2000. Finishing Family Medicine Residency at Kaiser
Permanente Los Angeles in 2003 and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at
UCSD in 2006, he is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports
Medicine.
His interests are Family Medicine with a
strong focus on disease prevention and Sports Medicine injuries and
keeping a healthy life style. He is a member of the American Medical
Society of Sports Medicine and has volunteered at many sporting
events including Medical Director for the Pasadena Marathon and
California State Games. He has also been active with several local
high school teams and San Diego sporting events.
He lives in San Marcos with his wife, who
he met in medical school, and their two children. He enjoys running,
cycling, triathlons, hiking, coaching little league baseball and
AYSO soccer.
